![]() ![]() Shoe Goombas are Goombas that jump around in green shoes. Other than that, they act the same as a normal Goomba. Spiked Goombas can easily be defeated by using fireballs, Koopa Shells, etc. This makes them invincible, right? Wrong. Spiked Goombas are Goombas with spiked helmets on their heads, so Mario can't jump on them. ![]() Nobody knows where they keep the Micro Goombas. Some Paragoombas are able to drop Micro Goombas from above. They're slightly stronger than normal Goombas, in that they take two stomps to defeat. Paragoombas are winged Goombas that are able to trick Mario by jumping when he tries to stomp on them, making them a little bit trickier to defeat. ![]() Goombas don't try to attack Mario and have no problems walking off of cliffs, making them one of the most infamous Mario enemies of all time. Just one bop on the head is all it takes. Goombas are brown mushrooms that stroll around aimlessly, and are very easy to defeat. NOTE: If an enemy's description is in bold text like this, it means that it can't be defeated with the Hammer Flower. They'll probably be used in some level machinery because they can "check" for Mario's position while entering a room and activate things like blocks and on/off switches. This is a list of enemies in New Super Mario Bros. I'm sure there are plenty of other uses for these things. Snowballs are pretty fragile, but in SMW you can kick them upwards and if they don't hit anything on the way up they will land without breaking. They will all try to occupy the same square and destroy each other if kicked. You will fall through and kick at a snowball if its not moving, even on SMB1. You can jump on a snowball as long as its moving, though it will try to halt when you jump on it. Even large snowballs will only bump blocks. Snowballs will only "bump" blocks from the side, not destroy them. Your own fireballs will destroy a snowball, but firebars, burners, and lava bubbles cannot. They will not go through vertical clear pipes even if dropped or launched directly onto them. Spike balls of both sizes can go through clear pipes in 3DW in the direction of their horizontal momentum. ![]() This can include seesaws and it will also activate upright P-switches.Īntigravity spike balls will pass right through twisters, but ones obeying gravity will be affected. If you make Spike stop moving by stacking him on something like a muncher, his antigravity spike balls will gain gravity when they fly onto a surface on the same plane as the Spike. You can also place spike balls on tracks and dislodge them from them with these methods. Buzzy shelmet and tail swipe are a couple of methods of deflecting the ball. Large spike balls will destroy cloud blocks that they roll over or are allowed to fall straight through.Īntigravity spike balls in SMB1 or SMB3 can be deflected to gain gravity. You can spin jump on spike balls in SMW and NewSupe. This weirdness even affects Lakitus that are holding spike balls.īill blasters and pipes may only have one spike ball active from their source at one time. However, if you spawn into a room via door or pipe, and a placed spike ball exists to the left of that, it will start to roll right instead, even if it rolled left when the stage first started. Spike balls default rolling to the left when possible. I have a feeling these objects will be REALLY useful. I spent the past couple of hours experimenting with Spikeballs and Snowballs, and wanted to share the stuff I learned with the class, especially the weirder stuff. ![]()
